Our task was to create a better experience for Veterans in consuming the services provided to them by the Department of Veteran Affairs. Some victories included improving the digital 526 Disability Compensation application and enhancing the experience on the Claims and Appeals Status Tool, where Veterans could get updates on claims in progress. Further, we added brand new digital products to the website including the Benefits Delivery at Discharge form, the Higher-Level Review request form, and Notice of Disagreement form for the Board of Veteran Appeals. All of this work was accomplished while working in-house at an agency called GovCIO.
